East Coast Household Staffing: New York, the Hamptons & Washington, D.C.
We are headquartered in Miami and have placed private household staff in New York, the Hamptons and Washington, D.C. since 2011.
Staffing for Families With More Than One Home
A second or third residence creates questions a single-city firm rarely solves:
- Which staff travel with the family, and which stay with each property?
- Who runs the house while you’re away, and who opens it before you arrive?
- How do you pay and schedule staff fairly when they work in states with different labor laws?
We answer those questions first, then recruit into the structure. Our Miami and Palm Beach practices handle the Florida side.
Household Staff We Place Along the East Coast
- Estate and house managers who oversee more than one property
- Executive housekeepers for primary and seasonal homes
- Private chefs who travel with the family or stay with a residence
- Personal, executive and family assistants who manage schedules, travel and vendors
- Travel nannies and career nannies who move with the children between homes
- Newborn care specialists for families welcoming a baby, wherever they are
New York City
Since 2011, we have placed staff in Manhattan apartments and townhouses, often for families who also keep a Florida residence. New York State’s Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights gives household employees specific rights, including overtime pay and a weekly day of rest. We build those requirements into every New York employment agreement.
The Hamptons
Summer homes in Southampton, East Hampton, Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor need staff from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and someone to close the house after. We plan summer searches in early spring, before the best seasonal candidates are booked.
Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia
Many D.C.-area families don’t have a family office but still need professional help at home. We place personal and family assistants, house managers and nannies in Georgetown, Kalorama, McLean, Potomac and Chevy Chase.
