Schedule: Flexible — typically 8-12 hour shifts, daytime or overnight

Travel: May include occasional domestic travel with the family

General Responsibilities
As a newborn care specialist, your role is to provide expert support for parents and newborns during the critical first months of life.
Infant Care & Development
-
Provide hands-on newborn care, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and safe sleep practices
-
Monitor the baby’s development, tracking milestones and reporting updates to parents

Offer guidance on proper handling and positioning
Parental Education & Support

Educate parents on infant feeding techniques, soothing strategies, and sleep routines

Advise on safe sleep guidelines per CDC recommendations
-
Support new parents through hands-on coaching, helping them build confidence
Sleep Training & Routines

Establish and manage age-appropriate sleep conditioning plans

Guide families on nap schedules, nighttime feedings, and improving infant sleep patterns

Support transitions from co-sleeping or swaddling to independent sleep
Health, Safety & Vaccinations

Ensure compliance with CDC-recommended vaccinations when working with infants

Keep up-to-date with all required newborn care certifications (CPR, First Aid, NCS, etc.)

Monitor the baby’s overall health and communicate any concerns to parents promptly
Household Support

Maintain cleanliness and organization of baby-related items
-
Prepare bottles, sterilize feeding equipment, and manage formula or breastmilk storage

Coordinate with other household staff when needed
Qualifications & Requirements
This role is designed for an experienced, certified newborn care professional committed to providing the highest quality of care.

3+ years of newborn care specialist experience required

Valid certifications: Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), CPR & First Aid

Must have CDC-recommended vaccinations when working with infants
-
Strong knowledge of newborn sleep patterns, feeding, and development
-
Compassionate, patient, and confident in guiding parents
-
Experience supporting high-profile families preferred
